In the wake of the latest school shooting, districts across the nation are left to reexamine their safety measures. The Pleasant Valley School District is no exception. John Fraser imagined that after more than two decades of working for the City of Camarillo, he would be commemorated by his colleagues at the end of his career with a party at 601 Carmen Drive. One person was killed when a small plane struck a building south of the 101 Freeway and crashed in an Oxnard strawberry field near the northbound lanes of the 101 at the Del Norte Boulevard exit Friday morning, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Countless innings have been played at Rio Mesa High School’s baseball field in David Soliz’s 22 years as head coach. The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District is inviting the community to celebrate the grand reopening of Arneill Ranch Park on July 9. Semiofficial election results indicate the majority of Ventura County voters have rejected measures A and B. Presented with a golden plaque and a colorful bouquet of flowers, Shannon Klemann reflected on her passion for educating the next generation of leaders. A Camarillo man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his mother after her remains were discovered June 3 inside a dumpster at the apartment complex where they shared a home, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said. Green grass will fade to brown as Camarillo residents and business owners follow new rules to water their lawns only once a week.
